The cause of the outage was an electrical fire in Newark, NJ.
The crews have replaced the cable and brought the service back online.

Fiber Engineering has isolated damage to an electrical fire in Newark, NJ. Crews are standing by awaiting access from the local utility company so they can safely plan and perform repairs

Our NOC is observing a fiber break between our NJ compute facility and one of the core routing sites at 165 Halset St, Newark, NJ.
We have requested urgent assistance from our Dark Fiber provider in restoring the affected circuit.
There's currently no impact to our services which operate with reduced resiliency.
Customers with unprotected circuit directly on the affected fiber have their services currently down on this path.
